The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected by Southern Baptists to support International Missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by the Women’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churched to support foreign missions and give sacrificially. 

Big Creek Baptist supports this effort by scheduling and hosting an annual auction to raise funds. Big Creek’s 2021 auction was held in our Family Life Center on Nov. 19. Members donated items such as Christmas Trees, wreaths, homemade cakes and pastries, pieces of furniture, and other interesting times. Preceding the auction this year soup and sandwiches were offered with donations being requested. 

Approximately forty-four members and quests were in attendance as we surpassed our goal of raising $1,200.00. We enjoyed good fellowship, good food, and each winning bidder brought home a personal treasure. Mike Hughes served as our auctioneer with his wife Mary serving as his able assistant.
